August 22 Camden Courier-Post
We bring you cornerback Dimitri Patterson.
Patterson admitted Friday night, after he picked off one pass and helped force another turnover against the Bengals in the Eagles‘ 22-9 preseason loss, that he is finally playing on instinct — and finally healthy — after a topsy-turvy first full season in Philadelphia.
“I’m just trying to make plays,” the fifth-year corner said. “Whenever they come my way, I’m just trying to make plays and I’m trying to show up on film and going against elite receivers like we went up against [Friday], you want to show up on film.
“You want to show not just that can you get on the field, you want to show that you can be a factor and be productive on the field. My mind-set coming into this game was, if an opportunity came, I was going to show it.”
Patterson said he’s not overthinking on the field, a common byproduct of learning a new defense. He signed with the Eagles last January after two seasons with Kansas City and one with Washington, which had signed him out of Tuskegee in 2005.
At the time the Eagles signed him, during their January playoff run at the end of the 2008 season, Patterson was still mending from an injury with Kansas City.”
