October 9 Wilmington News Journal:
“Chad Hall can sense how close he is to making his NFL dream a reality.
Hall traveled with the team Friday for the first time this season and could end up making his debut Sunday night against San Francisco if head coach Andy Reid needs a fourth receiver.
A setback in rookie Riley Cooper’s recovery from a concussion means the Eagles have just three receivers on the roster.
As of Friday afternoon, Reid hadn’t decided to make a roster move, but he can sign Hall from the practice squad at the last minute.
“Yeah, I’m excited,” Hall said. “It’s the first time I’m actually a step closer, but I’m ready. I’ve been working hard and mentally, I’ll just have to be sharp on everything.”
Hall took Cooper’s repetitions on the offense this week instead of playing his customary role on the scout team, which runs the opponent’s plays.
Hall had already started to get acclimated with Kevin Kolb’s throwing style when Kolb took scout-team reps while Michael Vick was the starter. Vick is out for Sunday’s game with cracked rib cartilage.
In general, Hall said he’s “just getting the feel of things.”
Hall played running back, receiver and return specialist at Air Force.
After a short stint in a spring camp with the Falcons, Hall spent the last two years fulfilling his military commitment, which put his potential professional career on hold.”
