“The Eagles may have to invest in more carts.

Moments after woozy defensive tackle Antonio Dixon was wheeled off the field during Monday afternoon practice at training camp in Lehigh, cornerback Macho Harris had to be transported to the locker room.

For those counting at home, that’s five injured Eagles who have been carted off the field in the first three days of full-pads practice.

On Saturday, it was wide receiver DeSean Jackson. On Sunday, running back Mike Bell and cornerback Asante Samuel joined the wounded. Dixon and Harris made it five.

Dixon “hit his head” and Harris tweaked his hamstring, according to coach Andy Reid. But those weren’t the only injuries Monday.

Guard Stacy Andrews missed the afternoon session with a shoulder problem, but he later said, “It ain’t nothing.” A dehydrated Brent Celek was hooked up to an IV in the morning, but the tight end returned in the afternoon. And tight end Martin Rucker left the morning practice early with a hamstring injury.

The Eagles seem to have a case of the hammies.

Linebacker Stewart Bradley, wide receiver Jordan Norwood, Samuel and Bell all have what the team is calling minor hamstring injuries. Bradley sat out the morning practice, returned briefly during the afternoon installation period, and rejoined several other injured players working out with the training staff.

Norwood, Samuel and Bell did not practice at all. Neither did Jackson (back) and center A.Q. Shipley (ankle).

Jackson limped out of the locker room after the morning practice – again without comment – and hopped into the passenger seat of a truck and took off.

Bell was asked if he knew of a timetable for his return. “Nuh-uh,” he said. “I’ll be all right.””
