The Eagles have announced the release of safety Jamar Wall, wide receiver Gerald Jones, tight end Martell Webb, and offensive tackle Spencer Johnson. None of these players had any shot of making the team.
The Eagles need to get to 80 players by Tuesday and the final roster by September 3.
Not surprisingly, our 53-man projections (offense, defense/special teams) are still 100% correct. That could change though as there are Twitter whispers going around that defensive end Juqua Parker may be out. It would be a shame if they get rid of a solid vet to keep an under-talented draft pick like Daniel Te’o Nesheim but it’s very possible that’s happening. Per Twitter, DT-N is on the practice field right now, but Parker isn’t.
Speaking of practice, Jeremy Maclin and Steve Smith are out there again, making it three days in a row, per a Les Bowen tweet. It’s great news and every day that passes with them on the field just adds to the excitement level for this offense.
