Asomugha not high on Eagles’ wish list

June 7 CBSSports.com:

When the NFL lifts its lockout, one of the first free agents off the shelf will be Oakland cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha — with the expectation that the Philadelphia Eagles are first in line.  Or maybe not.  There’s no question that Asomugha will be a hot property. He’s one of the game’s elite defenders, so proficient that once he hits the free-agent market a bidding frenzy should erupt. But don’t expect the Eagles to join the charge.

Report: Eagles’ McCoy ordered to pay over $8K for no-show

June 7 NFL.com:

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy is facing a court judgment of nearly $8,200 after not showing up for a paid appearance, the Philadelphia Daily News reported Monday night.  According to the May 18 judgment, McCoy and a co-defendant failed to respond to the lawsuit filed by a since-imprisoned memorabilia-store owner, said Barry Dyller, whose firm is representing the Pennsylvania store’s owner, Salvatore Argo.

Avant: Eagles could use Burress in the red zone

June 8 CSN Philly:

Plaxico Burress left a New York prison on Monday after nearly two years behind bars. That might have been the end of the story, but the former Giants star, upon being released, sported an old-school red Phillies cap.  Cue the swirling rumors.

Is Plaxico practical for Eagles?

June 8 Allentown Morning Call columnist Nick Fierro:

Plaxico Burress landing with the Eagles is not a particularly new or surprising theory. It just picked up a whole lot more steam with Burress’ subtle fashion statement upon his release from prison on Monday following a total miscarriage of justice that took two years off his career at considerable expense to taxpayers.

Birds’ Avant, Kafka not worried by dwindling numbers

June 8 CSN Philly:

It looked like the kind of toss-and-catch that could have happened in just about any backyard in the country.  Mike Kafka took snaps, dropped back and threw to Jason Avant, who was covered loosely by Jamar Adams for about 45 minutes at the Memorial Sports Complex in Marlton, N.J., on Tuesday morning.
