August 22  CSN Philly

Jamar Chaney hears what everybody’s saying about the Eagles’ linebackers, and he understands it.  Doesn’t agree. But he understands why everybody thinks this group of linebackers stinks.  Chaney’s a second-year seventh-round draft pick playing a new position. Moise Fokou is a third-year seventh-round pick playing a new position. Casey Matthews is a rookie fourth-round pick playing a new position.

Eagles’ Chaney says hit by Steelers player wasn’t intentional

August 22 Philly.com

STRONGSIDE linebacker Jamar Chaney confirmed that he has buried the hatchet with Steelers offensive lineman Ramon Foster, who dived into the back of Chaney’s legs well after the whistle during last Thursday’s game. Foster was not penalized.  “I don’t think he did it intentionally,” Chaney said today. “It looked like it on film. It is what it is. It won’t help me to be mad about it . . . We don’t play the Steelers any more unless we make it to the Super Bowl and they make it, too.”

Big week for Eagles’ rookie center Kelce

August 22 Philly.com

JASON KELCE got the phone call from offensive line coach Howard Mudd Friday night.  “I was surprised when he told me. He was like, ‘This is your time to show us what you’ve got. Just make sure you go out there and do what you what you’re supposed to do,’ ” Kelce, the Eagles’ rookie center from Cincinnati, said yesterday.  Mudd had called to tell Kelce he would be getting all the first-team reps this week, leading up to Thursday’s home preseason game against the visiting Browns. Traditionally, the third preseason game is the closest thing to a dress rehearsal for the regular-season opener.

Roseman rooting for Eagles-Jets in Super Bowl

August 22 Philly.com

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was a self-described “obsessed” Jets fan, growing up in Brooklyn.  He knew virtually everything about those teams in the 1980s, with Freeman McNeil, Ken O’Brien and the New York Sack Exchange.  While he is “all about the Eagles now,” he allowed that his dream scenario would be the Eagles vs. the Jets in the Super Bowl, with the Eagles winning, of course.
