Defensive tackle Mike Patterson rejoined the Eagles at Lehigh University Friday afternoon, just two days after suffering a seizure that the team has said was caused by a blood vessel irregularity in his brain – a brain AVM. Patterson’s agent J.R. Rickert said he expects the 27-year-old defensive tackle to be cleared soon to resume football activities, but the Eagles aren’t nearly as optimistic. “He is scheduled to see a neurologist in Philadelphia in the next day or so,” Rickert said in a statement he posted on his website.

What a difference a day makes in the health situation of Eagles defensive tackle Mike Patterson, who now — his agent attests — could soon rejoin the team. Eagles representatives, who have preferred not to speculate on Patterson’s immediate and long-term future, rejected that notion Friday — when Patterson was released from Lehigh Valley Hospital and visited the locker room before the afternoon practice.
