Andy Reid jokes about Rob Ryan’s comments regarding the Eagles

August 4 Dallas Morning News

Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan made a bold statement regarding the rival Philadelphia Eagles following practice on Monday.  Eagles coach Andy Reid addressed Ryan’s comments Wednesday morning when he joined The Mike and Mike Show on ESPN Radio.  “Well, you know, I would have been pretty upset if he said it was a hotdog eating contest, I would have been ready then,” Reid joked.

Opportunity present at RT for new Eagle Harris

August 4 CSN Philly columnist: Reuben Frank

Ryan Harris hasn’t even practiced with the Eagles yet, and he may already be the favorite to win the starting right tackle job.  Winston Justice isn’t ready and doesn’t look like he’s close to being ready. Austin Howard and King Dunlap are long-range projects.  That leaves Harris. By default.

For Watkins, an eventful first day of training camp

August 4 CSN Philly

When Eagles defensive tackle Mike Patterson went down after a seizure during Wednesday’s morning practice, rookie Danny Watkins‘ instincts kicked in.  A trained EMT, Watkins stepped in to help Patterson before paramedics arrived, took over and eventually drove Patterson to Lehigh Valley Hospital.  Not exactly something Watkins expected on his first day with the Eagles, but with the way training camp has shaken out so far, there’s no telling what could be in store for the first-round pick before the team’s season opener on Sept. 11 in St. Louis.

RB Brown can’t help but smile to be an Eagle

August 4 CSN Philly

Ronnie Brown’s face pretty much told the whole story.  The 29-year-old running back showed up to Lehigh University for the first time on Wednesday after being signed by the Eagles as an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday evening.  He wore a green Eagles visor and an ear-to-ear grin. The visor was handed to him before he faced the media. The smile he’s worn since he found out he’d be coming to Philadelphia.

Eagles acting like a team out to win

August 4 Buffalo News columnist: Jerry Sullivan

“Column as I see ’em:  Coach Andy Reid dismisses talk of a “Dream Team.” But the Eagles are clearly serious about a Super Bowl run. They’ve signed three elite free-agent defenders: Nnamdi Asomugha, Jason Babin and Cullen Jenkins. They signed quarterback Vince Young and traded for cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. On Tuesday, they signed Ryan Harris to compete at right tackle.  This is how a team acts when it intends to win now.
