The Eagles have announced the signing of rookie WR Riley Cooper to a 4 year contract.
Selected in the 5th round (159th overall), Cooper played college football at Florida with Tim Tebow. He played in 51 games while there, starting 28.
This past season he had 51 catches for 961 yards and 9 touchdowns, securing second team All-SEC honors. For his career, Cooper caught 81 passes for 1,496 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Cooper joins an already excellent group of WR’s, led by emerging superstar DeSean Jackson and 2009 1st round pick Jeremy Maclin as well as the sure handed Jason Avant. Behind that triumvirate, Cooper will compete with Hank Baskett amongst others for playing time, primarily on Special Teams.
1st round DE Brandon Graham and 2nd round FS Nate Allen are the only 2010 draft picks who have yet to sign.
