According to Joique Bell himself via Twitter, the Eagles intend to sign the undrafted rookie running back.
Said Bell, “On the plane Heading to Philly….ur boy is a “EAGLE” now…..haha ”MAGIC MAN”, and a few hours later, “Goin thru anotha physical….SIGH!!!”
Bell, out of Division II Wayne State, had previously been on the Buffalo Bills practice squad. At 5’11, 220 lbs, Bell has good size, and what he lacks in straight line speed he makes up for it with toughness.
On his weekly radio show on 610WIP, Eagles head coach Andy Reid admitted that “something could happen” with Bell within the next day or two and that the running back is in Philadelphia taking a physical. Reid indicated that Bell could contribute both as a running back and on special teams.
In four preseason games, Bell carried the ball 27 times for 152 yards .
Per the rules for signing players from other teams’ practice squads, the player must be signed at least 6 days prior to the signing team’s next game, and the signed player must remain on the signing team’s active roster for a minimum of 3 weeks.
