Calvin, 5-foot-11, 184 pounds, had 76 tackles, two interceptions and nine pass break ups for Troy as a junior in 2008. He missed his senior season because he was academically ineligible. Calvin and Scott were both seen as firmly on the roster bubbles with the Cardinals and Eagles.
“This guy has return ability … and you’re always looking for corners,” said Eagles general manager Howie Roseman. “It’s a hard to find position. We felt like it was an opportunity to bring a guy in and see what he has .”
The Cardinals also needed a fullback after Nehemiah Broughton tore his anterior cruciate ligament in a preseason game Saturday. The injury left the team with just one fullback.
Scott, drafted as a halfback, had disappointed and was moved to fullback during preseason. Scott was drafted 200th overall. Calvin went 201st to Arizona.”
