The NFL has officially postponed the Eagles-Vikings game to Tuesday, December 28, at 8pm.
This is actually the second time that the game’s start time has changed. It was originally scheduled for 1pm Sunday, but then was flexed by NBC to the national Sunday Night Football broadcast that night.
Here is the official statement from NFL spokesman Greg Aiello:
- “Due to public safety concerns in light of today’s snow emergency in Philadelphia, tonight’s Vikings-Eagles game has been postponed. Because of the uncertainty of the extent of tonight’s storm and its aftermath, the game will be played on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. This will allow sufficient time to ensure that roads, parking lots and the stadium are fully cleared. The National Weather Service states that a winter storm warning in Philadelphia remains in effect until 1 pm on Monday.”
Some of the Eagles offensive stars have already chimed in via Twitter, and it looks like they’d rather be playing tonight.
“This sucks man,” said running back LeSean McCoy.
“Pissed,” was the one-word tweet from wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.
Not sure if they’re annoyed with not being able to play tonight or at the idea of a very short week leading into the final game of the season next Sunday against Dallas.
