January 4 Camden Courier-Post:
“Eagles coach Andy Reid said Monday that middle linebacker Stewart Bradley isn’t on track to return Sunday from the elbow injury that sidelined him the last three regular-season games.
The team had hoped Bradley would be back for the playoffs, but Reid said it would be a stretch for him to make the team’s first-round playoff game against the Packers.
“If he had to play today, he wouldn’t be able to play,” Reid said. “So we’ll take it day by day and see how he does here. I think it will be a stretch for him to make it, but we’ll see how he does.”
If Bradley can’t go, Jamar Chaney will make his third start at middle linebacker. The rookie seventh-round pick was withheld from Sunday’s game against Dallas, which should have been an indication Bradley wasn’t ready to return.
Bradley left the Dec. 12 game against Dallas with a dislocated elbow. He was expected to recover in time for the first postseason game, but plans have apparently changed.
“He hasn’t been able to do anything where he applies pressure on it — in other words where you have to jam and do those types of things,” Reid explained.
Chaney, who led the Eagles in tackles in the three games he played, remains an option to play even if Bradley returns.”
