The snowstorm hitting the east coast may have prevented the Eagles from playing Sunday night, but it didn’t prevent them from winning the NFC East.
Thanks to the thorough beating handed to the Giants today by the Green Bay Packers, the Eagles have officially clinched the title of 2010 NFC East Champions.
The division crown guarantees the Eagles a home playoff game. To secure the number 2 seed in the NFC, and more importantly, the accomanying first round bye that goes with it, the Eagles need two things to happen — they need to defeat Minnesota at home on Tuesday night, and then in the final week of the season the Eagles will need to beat Dallas and then have the Chicago Bears lose to the Packers in Green Bay.
A smackdown of the pathetic Cowboys is very likely, and the Packers will be playing for their own playoff berth, so a week off along with a guaranteed playoff game at the Linc is certainly possible.
The Eagles just need to be sure not to look past the Vikings on Tuesday night.
