October 2 Camden Courier-Post:
“The Eagles traded for Reggie Wells to shore up their interior offensive line after trading away right guard Stacy Andrews just before the start of the season.
But after a stint in Sunday’s win over Jacksonville, Wells might not be the first choice to replace right guard Nick Cole, who continues to battle knee soreness and was held out of Friday’s practice on the turn inside the team’s practice bubble.
Head coach Andy Reid said Friday that he hadn’t yet decided who would replace Cole against the Redskins on Sunday if the right guard isn’t able to play. The candidates are Wells and fourth-year reserve Max Jean-Gilles, who appears to have the inside track after taking first-team reps in practice.
Jean-Gilles lost about 50 pounds in the offseason after having a gastric lap-band procedure intended to combat his weight problems. He had ballooned to around 400 pounds at the end of last season.”
