Jeremy Maclin had been excused from Eagles training camp while he dealt with some type of illness. The good news today though is that he’s back. Maclin checked in to the team facility last night and has been on the practice field today with his teammates.
Maclin was dealing with so-called “mono-like symptons” back in February and March and was reported to have lost 15 pounds. For a guy with pretty much no body fat to begin with that’s not a good sign.
Maclin still isn’t practicing. This morning during his live training camp report Dave Spadaro confirmed that the Eagles are waiting for tests to come back to see where Maclin stands. The most positive thing really is that if Maclin were suffering some sort of truly terrible illness like cancer he wouldn’t have shown up at all. Hopefully it’s just something he picked up from an um, night on the town, and there’s a cream for it.
In other somewhat related news, the Eagles have signed undrafted free agent wideout Brandon Caleb. The 6-1, 193 pound receiver played for Oklahoma. Not quite as exciting as Randy Moss…
