It’s just after noon and Kevin Kolb is still an Eagle, possibly because the the team has been busy today signing undrafted free agents.
The count as of now stands at 10:
Graig Cooper (RB, Miami)
Terrance Turner (WR, Indiana)
Cedric Thornton (DL, Southern Arkansas)
Martell Webb (TE, Michigan)
Chas Henry (P, Florida)
Derrell Johnson-Koulianos (WR, Iowa)
Deandre Brown (WR, Southern Miss)
Perry Baker (WR, Fairmont State)
Jerrod Johnson (QB, Texas A&M
Brandon Pegues (DE, Hampton)
Former Penn State and University of Delaware quaterback Pat Devlin has signed with the Arizona Cardinals, so maybe now they don’t need Kolb. Or not. [UPDATE] It turns out the Cardinals offered him a contract but Devlin ended up signing a three year deal with the Miami Dolphins.
Also, don’t count out the Seattle Seahawks, who are rumored to be in on the Kolb action. The Eagles will obviously try to play interested teams against each other to drive up the price. Still say the best deal is Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and whatever pick they can get from the Cards. That deal helps the team immediately and allows greater financial flexibility for signing a defensive end and linebacker.
One other note – former Boston College linebacker and cancer survivor Mark Herzlich has signed with the Giants. The Eagles were interested but apparently not enough. Shame they couldn’t find a way to get a guy like that on board; he’d help to counteract some of the abhorrent personalities on the team, especially if they end up bringing in Albert Haynesworth.
