The NFL trade deadline has come and gone, and the Eagles actually made a move. No, they didn’t ship disgruntled cornerback Asante Samuel out of town (still love that ridiculous Asante-for-Patrick Willis rumor) for a desperately needed linebacker.
Nope, they dumped running back Ronnie Brown on the Lions for a 2013 seventh-round draft pick and former Eagles running back Jerome Harrison. Brown didn’t see the field at all this past Sunday, seemingly punished for the horrible decision to throw a pass while attempting a goal line dive. Of course, Brown wasn’t the genius who called a run/pass option on the goal line, but I digress.
The Eagles get back the serviceable Harrison, who left the team as a free agent after performing admirably in a very limited role last season.
Ultimately, it doesn’t really matter anyway as the Eagles struggle to even give enough carries to their best player, LeSean McCoy. This just smacks of a deal being made just to say a deal was made. For a 2-4 team that needs a kick in the ass, sometimes the illusion of change is as good as actual change.
Here’s a sampling of what’s being talked about right now on the PSC Eagles message board. Click each thread title to check out each one:

probably without having to go to a tiebreaker.
Wow. If they couldn’t land him they were coming after Vince Young apparently.
