The Flyers will be adding a new level to their minor league organization, today entering into an agreement with the East Coast Hockey League’s Trenton Titans. The new relationship replaces the Greenville Road Warriors as the Flyers secondary affiliate.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for hockey fans in Trenton and the surrounding region to identify new up-and-coming future prospects and watch them grow into possible NHL stars,” said Comcast-Spectacor president Peter Luukko.
Players under contract to both the Flyers and Adirondack Phantoms will be eligible to be assigned to Trenton. The Titans previously had a relationship with the Flyers but have spent the past four years slumming it with the New Jersey Devils.
“To be affiliated with the Philadelphia Flyers and Adirondack Phantoms will greatly enhance what it means to be a member of the Trenton Titans,” said Titans President/CEO Rich Lisk. “The Flyers are committed to winning at every level. We hope to help them with that commitment by developing their future AHL and NHL players.”
