Flyers’ Pronger hopeful yet uncertain about return

May 27 CSN Philly:

It’s been 14 days since Chris Pronger underwent surgery to repair a herniated disc in his back, but returning to the ice is still the furthest thing from the Flyers’ defenseman’s mind.  Pronger, who played just 50 regular season games and appeared in only three of the Flyers’ 11 playoff games, doesn’t know whether he’ll be ready to re-join his teammates at the start of next season. In fact, he doesn’t even know when he’ll be able to skate again – but he remains optimistic that, when he does, he’ll return to his previous form.

Pronger: Richards continues to grow up

May 27 CSN Philly:

Chris Pronger wanted to know if a certain reporter was on the line during a conference call Thursday morning.  The Flyers’ top defenseman had just been asked to respond to the recent finger-pointing at team captain Mike Richards, and as it turns out, he had taken offense to one story that questioned whether Richards would be better off by giving up the “C” on his jersey.

Pronger supports his captain

May 27 Camden Courier-Post:

Unlike his injury-plagued season, this time Chris Pronger saved his best for last.  In a wide-ranging conference call with reporters Thursday, Pronger addressed his long road to recovery from back surgery, the Flyers’ disappointing second-round playoff collapse, and their desperate hunt for a goaltender.
