The Flyers’ Scott Hartnell has cut his flowing ginger mane.
However, this wasn’t an act of fashion, it was a gesture of support for a great cause. Hartnell donated the shorn curls to the chartitable group Locks of Love (locksoflove.org), a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
“I looked on their website and read that my hair had to be 10 inches long,” Hartnell said. “So I went over to the East End Salon in Philadelphia and had the barber chop off my hair, place it in a package and shipped it to Locks of Love.”
