November 27 Philadelphia Inquirer:

“After being benched earlier this season, Flyers wingers James van Riemsdyk and Nik Zherdev have responded in a positive way.

In Friday’s 3-2, shoot-out loss to Calgary, each scored a goal to continue their strong play.

After not scoring in his first 17 games, van Riemsdyk has netted a goal in each of the last three. He had never scored goals in consecutive games until this week.

“I think our line just has some great chemistry, kind of naturally. All of our three styles fit together pretty well,” said van Riemsdyk, who has been on a unit with Mike Richards and Andreas Nodl.

Van Riemsdyk, 21, downplayed his three-game scoring streak.

“Sometimes, it’s funny how hockey works,” he said. “You may not necessarily feel you’re playing a ton of a lot different or better, but sometimes you get the bounces and sometimes you put some points in, so obviously I want to keep doing what I’m doing. I feel like I’m going to the net a lot more. That’s one difference.””
