Major League Baseball have announced that the Phillies will take on the Atlanta Braves in the annual Civil Rights game, to be played on May 15, 2011 at Turner Field in Atlanta.
Game time is scheduled for 2pm.
This is the fifth year for the game, which started in 2007 as a way to honor those who championed civil rights both on and off the field. The game is part of a 4-day event that will feature pregame ceremonies recognizing the 2011 MLB Beacon Award recipients and on-field civil rights-themed musical performances.
In other Phillies schedule-related news, ESPN have announced their Sunday Night Baseball schedule through May, with the Phillies getting home games against the Mets on May 1 and the Braves on May 8. Both will be at the normal SNB start time of 8pm.
Pitchers and catchers start working out in a month. Also, the Phillies signed Cliff Lee!!
