The good news is that Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins has been activated off the 15-day disabled list. The bad news is he still won’t play tonight as the Phillies open a huge four-game set against postseason contender the Brewers in Milwaukee. So says Rollins himself.
Rollins has been out since August 22 with a groin strain suffered in Washington DC against the Nationals. It’s unclear when Rollins will actually suit up.
Luckily the Phillies just slapped the Braves around to extend their division lead to 10.5 games, so the Phils can survive without Rollins for a bit. That said, it will be a nice lift to get their leader back down the stretch, especially with Chase Utley out for a while with his concussion.
