Phillies ace Roy Halladay

Roy Halladay gave up an un-Halladay like 4 runs over 8 innings

The Phillies have confirmed the 25-man playoff roster for the series against the Cardinals.

They have kept 11 pitchers:  righthanders Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, Vance Worley, Joe Blanton, Kyle Kendrick, Brad Lidge, Ryan Madson, Michael Stutes, and lefthanders Cole Hamels, Cliff Lee, and Antonio Bastardo, .

Charlie Manuel will have 14 position players to choose from:

6 infielders: Ryan Howard, Chase Utley, Jimmy Rollins, Placido Polanco, Michael Martinez and Wilson Valdez.
6 outfielders: Hunter Pence, Shane Victorino, Raúl Ibañez, John Mayberry Jr., Ben Francisco, and Ross Gload.
2 catchers: Carlos Ruiz and Brian Schneider.

Start time for Game 1 on Saturday is 5:07pm.  The Phillies will start all-world ace Roy Halladay, who will take on the Cardinals’ Kyle Lohse, himself a one-time Phillie.

Also, Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. disclosed that Ross Gload recently had an anti-inflammatory injection to help the chroic pain in his right hip.  Gload is ready to go for the NLDS.

Amaro also said that Pete Orr and Erik Kratz will travel with the team as extra players, while reserves Brandon Moss, Joe Savery and Justin De Fratus would go to  Clearwater and crawl into glass boxes to be broken only in case of emergency.
