CLEARWATER, Fla. — Yankees ace CC Sabathia looked ready for Opening Day on Sunday at Bright House Field.

He allowed six hits, one run and one walk in 6 2/3 innings in an 8-1 victory over the Phillies. He struck out five.

Sabathia scattered three hits through five scoreless innings until the Phillies finally got something going offensively in the sixth inning, when Jimmy Rollins homered to left field. Ryan Howard followed with a double and Ben Francisco singled, although Howard was thrown out at the plate to end the inning.

The Yankees had better luck against Phillies right-hander Joe Blanton, who allowed eight hits and four runs in 6 1/3 innings. He struck out two.

Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez doubled to open the second inning. Rodriguez, who has a hit in each of his 13 games this spring, moved to third on a fielder’s choice and scored on Nick Swisher’s sacrifice fly to right field to give the Yankees a 1-0 lead.
