Halladay has just enough to get by as Phillies beat Nationals 5-4

May 31 Camden Courier-Post:

Roy Halladay was feeling the heat — both from the mid-90s temperatures and from the Washington Nationals, who had the tying run on third base with nobody out in the seventh inning Monday.  But Halladay wasn’t coming out, even though his pitch count had already topped 100 and even though he had already given up three home runs — one more than he’d allowed all season.

Phils send Worley to Triple-A

May 31 Camden Courier-Post:

The Phillies want Vance Worley to build his arm strength back up after going from a starter to a reliever and back to a starter during his time with the team.  So they decided the best place for the 23-year-old to do that would be with their Triple-A Lehigh Valley club — on a temporary basis.

Worley sent to minors, roster addition to come

May 31 CSN Philly:

The Phillies sent rookie pitcher Vance Worley to Triple A after Monday’s win over Washington.  The club will fill his roster spot before Tuesday night’s game. Assistant general manager Scott Proefrock would not comment on the team’s plans.

Phils have roster options to accommodate Victorino

May 31 CSN Philly:

Shane Victorino is scheduled to continue his minor-league injury rehabilitation assignment by playing in games at Double A Reading on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  If all goes well, Victorino will likely be back in the Phillies’ lineup Friday night in Pittsburgh.
