June 16 Allentown Morning Call:
Kyle Kendrick was sitting on his couch watching college football on TV last December when he heard the news of the Phillies signing Cliff Lee. Kendrick knew that likely meant he would be returning to the bullpen in 2011. He also must have felt a twinge deep in his soul and had fleeting thoughts (perhaps, nightmares) about what the deal meant to his future with the only organization he’s been with since he was a seventh-round draft pick in 2003 at the age of 18.
June 16 CSN Philly:
Domonic Brown’s heart was willing, but his body just wouldn’t let him do it, not after a marathon day at the ballpark. He had just watched his teammate, Carlos Ruiz, drive a single up the middle to lift the Phillies to a 5-4 win over the Florida Marlins in 10 innings Wednesday night. As jubilant Phillies players mobbed Ruiz, Brown thought about scurrying up to the clubhouse to whip up a celebratory shaving cream pie.

There is nothing to see here. Keep moving. Phillies left-hander Cole Hamels certainly made it sound Wednesday morning like he is fine after being removed from Tuesday’s game because of tightness in the middle of his back. “Come on, guys,” he said. “It hasn’t been 12 hours.” Hamels added, “I’m not injured. I’ll talk to you in five days.”
June 16 Allentown Morning Call;
Ryan Howard is swinging the bat well right now. Against lefties. Righties. It hasn’t mattered. Even some of his outs have been smacked. The same is true for some of his teammates. But the Phillies first baseman is not getting excited about the club’s recent offensive output. He’s not relieved to see the club score runs in bunches.
