Jimmy Rollins has undergone minor surgery on his left wrist. The Phillies announced that the operation was performed Thursday by hand specialist Randall Culp.
Dr Culp removed a ganglion cyst from Rollins’ wrist, with the stitches expected to be removed in a couple weeks.
Rollins should be fully recovered well before players report for Spring Training.
The 32 year old former MVP played in only 87 games during a 2010 season marred by injuries, where he batted a meager .243, with eight home runs and 41 RBI’s.
The upcoming 2011 season is the final year of Rollins’ contract.
