Sixers forward Andre Iguodala has been named to the NBA’s All-Defense second team.
The teams are voted on by all 30 NBA coaches, though no coach can vote for his own player. Each first place vote is worth two points with each second place vote worth one. Iguodala received five first place votes and five second place votes for a total of 15 points.
Iguodala is the first Sixer to make the All-Defense team since point guard Eric Snow was named to the second team for the 2002-2003 season.
Iggy takes a lot of well-earned criticism for his game, but playing defense is definitely something he does well. If his offensive prowess could actually catch up to his defense, Iguodala would finally become the superstar he both thinks he is and is being paid to be.
