By Justin Adkins:
Sixers coach Doug Collins has decided to rest Andre Iguodala for tonight’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers due to Iguodala’s ongoing issue with knee tendonitis.
The Sixers would next play Wednesday night, so resting Iguodala for a Saturday game after playing the night before will give the polarizing forward and his balky knee a nice break.
That next game is against the currently fifth-seeded Atlanta Hawks, who sit one spot and a few games ahead of the sixth-seeded Sixers in the playoff breakdown for the Eastern Conference. A rested Iguodala could help contribute to whittling that gap down by one.
