November 27 Philadelphia Daily News:
“Like his Miami Heat team, which had lost three straight entering last night’s game against the 76ers, Dwyane Wade had been struggling mightily.
In his previous two games, Wade had shot 7-for-33 (21.2 percent) and committed six turnovers.
Playing against the Sixers has always been a cure for anything that might be ailing Wade, however, as he has scored more points against the Sixers (709 in 27 games) than any other team he has faced.
Wade again struggled from the floor (7-for-16), but was active all night and finished with 23 points, eight assists and six rebounds to help the Heat improve to 9-7 with a 99-90 win over the Sixers.
The loss was the third straight loss for the 3-13 Sixers.
“If I were to say to you that we outshot them from the field [47.3 percent to 44.9 percent], outrebounded them [40-39], had more assists [23-19], more points off turnovers [18-16], even points in the paint [30-30], more second-chance points [12-10] and more fastbreak points [16-11] . . . ” coach Doug Collins said. “But they made 11 more free throws. That was the game.””
