Sixers draft center Vucevic with 16th overall pick

June 24 CSN Philly:

When NBA draft day rolls around, it’s the trade talk where all the intrigue lies. To some degree, every team is attempting to improve and reshape its roster. Futures are bright and hope springs eternal.  Of course not everything works out as planned.  At the very least, however, the 76ers filled a need with the No. 16 pick in Thursday night’s draft.

Sixers pick Temple’s Allen in second round

June 24 CSN Philly:

As the second round of the NBA draft unfolded on Thursday night, the Sixers couldn’t believe their luck. After trying to trade up and trade around in order to get big man Nikola Vucevic, the team had the pick land right in their laps.  Similar circumstances occurred in the second round, too. This time it was big man Lavoy Allen who was there when the Sixers picked at No. 50. Imagine the Sixers’ luck.

Draft comes and goes with Iguodala still a Sixer

June 24 CSN Philly:

Andre Iguodala was the talk of the town all day leading up to the NBA draft. Would he be dealt to the Lakers? Or maybe go to Minnesota?  At day’s end, however, No. 9 is still with the franchise that drafted him in the spring of 2004.  A draft day trade seemed unlikely. But an Iguodala trade remains a possibility given that Golden State selected Klay Thompson — a shooting guard who averaged 22 points for Washington State last season — with the No. 11 pick Thursday night.

Big man’s here, impact guy isn’t

June 24 Camden Courier-Post:

So now they’ll have to trade for their scorer, someone like Golden State’s Monta Ellis.  “In this draft, you see a lot of players you don’t know if they’re going to be impact or a star player,” Stefanski said. “There are a lot of good rotation type players, but we didn’t see a lot of players who would be possible stars or starters.”
