Sixers must weigh talent, need, experience in draft

It is the time of year when coaching staffs get back in the gym along with the front office brass and they evaluate talent, talent that may or may not be available when the Sixers make a selection at No. 16 and 50 overall in the upcoming NBA draft.  Bringing players into their practice facility is part of a process that allows for the organization to make the best selection possible. But before the players ever walk through PCOM’s doors, they have seen plenty.

Sixers face trading dilemma

The NBA Finals are in full swing, and the team that knocked out the Sixers in the first round, way back in late April, is still playing, only three wins away from an NBA championship.  So what can the Sixers learn from this?  Well, that they’re not close to being as good as the Miami Heat. Then again, neither are the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls, the Heat’s other victims who lasted exactly as long as the Sixers did — five games.

Syracuse’s Jackson hoping to stay in Philly

June 4 CSN Philly:

After a solid four-year career at Syracuse that culminated in him leading the Big East in rebounding, field goal percentage and blocked shots as a senior, Rick Jackson is ready to test the NBA waters.  Projected as a late second-round selection, Jackson, a 6-foot-9 power forward, is hoping his attendance at the Chicago pre-draft combine a couple weeks ago impressed NBA general managers and coaches alike with his maturity.
