Per Todd Zolecki, Kyle Kendrick will be called up from the minors to pitch this Saturday, which was his regularly scheduled spot before he was demoted Tuesday.
In addition, JA Happ will pitch Sunday. Happ has been in AAA-Lehigh Valley since coming off the disabled list with a forearm injury.
Jamie Moyer has been diagnosed with a strained ulnar collateral ligament and pronator tendon, per Jim Jackson following the Phillies victory today. Moyer could possibly be done for the season, which ultimately could mean he’s done for his career.
It’s an unfortunate turn of events for a pitcher who, at 47, has defied the odds to pitch fairly well this season. He will be missed.
It’s yet to be seen if the Phillies will be adding any more arms, either from within the organization or from another team in a trade. The trade deadline is just over a week away.
