Jimmy Rollins goes on DL with groin strain

August 23 Courier-Post

Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a groin strain, and All-Star third baseman Placido Polanco has been activated from the DL.  The moves were made before the major league-leading Phillies opened a three-game series against the New York Mets on Monday night.  Rollins strained his right groin in a loss at Washington on Sunday. The former NL MVP had never been on the DL before 2008, but this is his fourth stint in four years.
